Australia: Story Country

Create a map Australia: Story Country using MY MAPS as a library project.  Get students to help identify stories that are set in actual Australian  towns.   These can be plotted onto the map.  The map can be shared on your library blog and viewed by anyone without the need to sign in.

An alternative to this is instead of naming the books, leave a clue in of the locations and have students identify the books.  The map can be designed so each ‘pin’ has a letter designated to it.  Tutorials can be found on You Tube on how to use My Maps.  You need a google account, and you can access through your google drive, clicking on new, more.. My Maps.  You could also do the same with a physical map.

Look at this library blog as an example. Click on the places on the map to see what books are set in that location.
